Just a heads up, creating your own doesn't really fix the problem. I tried it. > echosof.proboards.com/index.cgiMint also had her own site and experienced the same problem. The problem isn't necessarily in the management. It's the users. Getting them and keeping them and what not. All rp sites experience lulls. Some of them break down because of it, others go quiet and come back like clockwork. It's just a matter of finding rp partners that are committed to rping enough to make a regular appearance. Not saying you shouldn't do it. You could get lucky, who knows.

I have to agree. I've had a half a dozen sites and they all failed. Then I got lucky with KW. Sure, activity on it has been lagging as of late, but it's still alive. It mostly depends on the plot of the site and the skin when it comes to keeping a place alive. It also helps if you start off with a few dedicated members that you've role-played with in the past.

Part of it is demand for the topic. When there are too many sites, members get spread thin. Oftentimes people just get bored over time and admins and whatnot ditching is not incommon either. Relatively active people who post make a site like this-- you only really need about ten people to keep up a good story. Ten people= approx. 20 characters and therefore a lot of potential role play. People get comfortable with one site, muse comes and goes. I am inclined to be a part of a small group of 10-15 who like to role play and have time every two to three days to post, essentially what a forum ends up being until people get bored of their storylines and characters. It happens. I am happy to help with another site but why not better PE?

I've always thought the same. I have 5 members lined u that like the plot and place I'm coming up with so that's all good. I just need it actually set up now....
